How To Turn Off Your Water Supply?
If you’re in an an emergency plumbing situation, knowing how to turn off the water supply to your home or business could significantly reduce the damaged caused.
In your home the stop tap is usually located under the kitchen sink, but may also be in an airing cupboard, or under the floorboards near the front door. Turning the valve clockwise until it stops, will shut off the valve. This will prevent water from passing through into your home, and potentially reduce the damage to your property.
If you are unable to find or turn your internal stop tap, contact our emergency team of plumbers immediately.
Gas Leaks
If you can smell gas call the emergency gas number [0800 111 999] and turn your gas meter off, by turning the lever valve.
In the event of a gas leak:
- Open Doors and Windows
- Turn Gas Meter off
- Call National Gas Emergency Number
- DO NOT turn electrical switches on or off.
