If you need a plumber in an emergency, call and explain your problem in as much detail as you can. The plumber should be able to tell you a rough price for the cost of the work, this may not always be accurate over the phone due to the nature of some problems and parts required.
Any reputable plumbing company will be able to provide you with quotations for planned works. The quote should include a full breakdown of the work involved and contain the terms of the quote.
